Petcoke prices have gone up in India due to shortage.
The country’s largest producer, Reliance Industries has revised its ex-work price upward by INR 150/MT to INR 4,150/MT w.e.f today. Essar, the 2nd largest producer in the country, has also raised its ex-work price by the same amount to INR 4,140/MT effective from 1 Apr’16.
In the international markets, supply was heard to go lower and import offers from key international markets have also gone up as a result.
According to a reputed importer in the country, offers of Petcoke (with 9% Sulphur content) have gone up to USD 43-44/MT, CFR India. Offers of the material (with 6.5% Sulphur content) from the US have also moved up to USD 47-48/MT, CFR India.
In the meantime, Petcoke production in refineries in the country has been going on in full-swing. Prevalence of strong demand has depleted stocks, leading to shortage. Some traders revealed to CoalMint that supplies from domestic producers were irregular.
