China exported around 52,394.822 tons (up by 556.575% MoM) of Pig Iron at an average price of US $480.2/t in August 2012. Whereas, imports reduced by 24.167% MoM to 63,852.838 tons at an average price of US $496.38/t, according to data from China customs (US$ 1 = RMB 6.3410).
Total imports and exports Pig Iron from January to June 2012 was 343,528.160 tons and 215,619.600 tons respectively.
In China's domestic market, Pig Iron offers were on the lower side that gave way to more of exports. Steel mills reduced imports on account of high prices across the globe.
