Jindal Stainless has commissioned its nickel pig iron smelter in Halmahera Islands, Indonesia, eight months early. This facility, part of a joint venture with New Yaking Pte. Ltd., secured nickel supplies for stainless steel production. The company acquired a 49% stake in the JV for USD 157 million in March 2023, ensuring long-term raw material availability.
