Pakistan’s thermal coal imports rise over two fold m-o-m in Jul’24

Pakistan’s thermal coal import volumes rose significantly by 153% m-o-m to 0.58 mnt in Jul’24 compared to 0.23 mnt in Jun’24, as per customs data.
South Africa emerged as the major exporter to Pakistan at o.40 mnt, followed by Tanzania at o.23 mnt.
However, thermal coal imports decreased 15% y-o-y to 0.58 in Jul’24 compared to 0.68 mnt in Jul’23.
