Imported Lump Offers Remain Stable, West India Pellet Offers Move Up

Offers for imported South African lump remain stable this week. Kumba lump offers are at USD 53-54/MT, CFR Kandla for shipments to arrive in 1st week of Mar’16. And offers for Assmang lump were assessed at USD 55-56/MT, CFR Kandla for Mar’16 deliveries.

Last week also the offers were seen at similar levels. Global iron ore prices have remained unchaged this week amid holidays in China. Trading activities also remained low this week.

As per the customs data maintained with SteelMint, there is a single iron ore import vessel expected to arrive in Feb’16 (till data collected on 11 Feb’16). Essar Steel’s iron ore import vessel “Golden Magnum” carrying 175,000 MT iron ore is expected to arrive at Hazira Port on 22 Feb’16.

Jindal SAW raises pellet offers further by INR 150/MT

Bhilwara based pellet maker-Jindal SAW has further increased in pellet offers amid increased prices of imported lump. Current offers for Fe 63% pellets are at INR 4,500/MT (del Kandla, CST extra) and for Fe 65% pellets offers are at INR 4,800/MT (del Kandla, CST extra). 

West India pellet offers have moved up for the 2nd week in continuation. Last week, the pellet maker had raised offers by INR 150/MT.
