With Shah commission's visit to Odisha to probe illegal mining in the state has hampered supply of iron ore in domestic market. Looking at short supply pellet manufacturers based in Barbil, Odisha have raised their offers by Rs 100-200/t and 63% pellet is being offered at around Rs 7,900-8,000/t (F.O.R Barbil Siding).
“There has been no fresh permissions for last 15 days as Shah commission investigates major mines in Odisha. Demand is good for pellets at the moment and major players have already raised their offers.” said a trader based in Odisha, India.
State is also talking of capping iron ore production which will certainly hit the supply in medium to long term.
