Pet coke import continued to inflow to India as offers were low to attract buyers in the country.
In Jan’16, cumulative import was recorded at 1,071,000 MT, which was the highest quantum of import in any of the 10th months of FY16.

Along the lines of the normal trend, USA and Saudi Arabia had figured as the topmost exporters for the month under consideration.

Notably, not all the sections of end-users preferred importing. Cement companies were only the predominant importers. Also, a few buyers from other segments imported during the month under review.
Among the top importers, Shree Cement imported the highest quantity of 292,450 MT, followed by Ultratech Cement and ACC with the respective import of 114,400 MT and 90,400 MT.
