Iron ore exports from India which stood at 1,143,700 MT in Dec’15 have moved up by 16% M-o-M in Jan’16. Total iron ore exports from India stood at 1,323,460 MT in Jan’16.
Out of this share of NMDC was 22% (294,460 MT). Monthly iron ore exports from Goa continued to increase for the third time in row in Jan’16. Share of iron ore exports from Goa in Jan’16 was 57%. Iron ore exports from Goa which were recorded at 672,800 MT in Dec’15 have increased to 753,800 MT in Jan’16.
Amongst iron ore exporters from Goa, Vedanta remained the largest exporter at 534,500 MT.
Talking about destination countries-1.03 MnT of the iron ore was exported to China. 0.21 MnT iron ore was exported to Japan and remaining 0.08 MnT to South Korea.

Pellet exports from India recorded at 119,500 MT in Jan’16- KIOCL exported two vessels of pellet in Jan’16. Vessel containing 65,500 MT pellets was exported to Iran and the second vessel containing 54,000 MT pellets was exported to China.
Indian iron ore exports reach 3.42 MnT in FY16
From Apr’15-Jan’16 iron ore exports from India were recorded at 3.42 MnT.
