Glencore, a significant ferro chrome producer in South Africa, saw a 26% y-o-y decline in Q1CY’24 output to 297,000 t from 400,000 t in Q1CY’23. The decrease was attributed to the inactive Rustenburg smelter which they plan to restart once prices and market conditions improve.
