“Expensive power tariff at Rs 6.40 per unit and critical issues regarding raw material non availability and poor quality as on date have resulted in rising cost of production”, points out Mr. O.P. Singh, Senior General Manager for Steel Making Division and Rolling Mill at Hospet Steels Ltd, Karnataka.
“It is not feasible to sell Billet at low prices and offers will move high in a month or more.
We have lowered production to 60% and manufacture around 27,000 tons of Billet per month”, he remarked.
