Bangladesh’s thermal coal imports were recorded at 0.91 mnt in Feb’24, dropped by 35% m-o-m compared to 1.40 mnt in Jan’24. Indonesia was the largest exporter at 0.66 mnt (dropped by 17% m-o-m) in Feb’24 as against 0.80 mnt in Jan’24, followed by South Africa at 0.05 mnt in Feb’24 compared to 0.22 mnt in Jan’24. Shipments from Japan (up by 77%) stood at 0.04 mnt in the month under review.
