China’s ferrous scrap imports amounted to 229,368 t in CY’23, reflecting a 46% decrease compared to the previous year’s 423,045 t. It is noteworthy that a significant portion of these imports originated from Japan at 137,719 t and South Korea at 43,035 t during the same period. In Dec’23, scrap imports doubled, reaching 35,715 t from the 17,475 t reported in Nov’23.
