Thermal coal prices of South African origin of 6000 NAR increased slightly to reach $83/MT FOB for December shipment. Currently, material of this grade is available around $81/MT FOB. A trader on East coast indicated that availability of cargoes from may get scarce as we move into December.
On the other hand, 6000 NAR Australian material is available at around $82/MT FOB, coming down from its offers in the last week. Dollar against the Rupee has moved up stronger over the last two weeks making import of material more expensive ($ = 54.75) and will be watched more closely in the coming weeks.
Further, prices for Indonesian 3800 GAR material stand firm at around $35/MT FOB with unchanged freight charges.
