Pig Iron imports increased in Turkey in September 12 due to the growing requirement of buyers in domestic market.
One of the largest Pig Iron producers in Turkey resumed operations in August 12 so that the supply issues in domestic market is resolved.
In September, Turkey imported 113,976 mt of Pig Iron in total. The figure marked an increase of 57% of Pig Iron imports as compared to September 12 and was 28% more in comparison to 89,360 mt (million tons) imported in August 12.
For the first nine months this year, Ukraine supplied the maximum quantity of 674,701 mt of Pig Iron to Turkey and exports from Russia stood at 322,149 mt. A total of 1.05 million mt was imported in Turkey from January to September 12 which is a 34% y-o-y rise.
