Pig Iron production has been impacted in India in a major way due to the unavailability of iron ore in states such as Karnataka and Goa.
A manufacturer of Pig Iron (foundry grade) Goa named Dempo Industries Pvt Ltd and another at Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh had taken a shut down around four months back due to continuous losses on high cost of manufacturing.
Though, they planned to resume production in the current month but raw material supply crisis and also weak demand from Pig Iron users has left no option but to wait for Government's decision regarding iron ore supply crisis and some improvement in domestic demand.
