Sponge iron export from India to nearby countries like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka declined by 50% in Sept’15 against Aug’15.
Bangladesh, which is India’s one of the major sponge iron buyer, purchased about 5,250 MT in Sept’15 and 12,000 MT in Aug’15.
Export offers have almost remained stable at USD 260-270/MT, FoB India for Bangladesh and USD 280/MT, FoB India for Sri Lanka.
