“Sesa Goa, the largest producer of low phosphorus Pig Iron in India has cut production capacity by 50%”, said Managing Director, Mr. P.K. Mukherjee
Though, the company had increased production capacity from 2,50,000 mt per year to 6,25,000 mt per year in the month of September 12, the low supply of iron ore due to mining ban in Goa in September this year and the continuing ban on mining in Karnataka has accounted for lowering of Pig Iron output.
E-auction sales in Karnataka is its current source for iron ore supply and the company has bought 60,000 mt of iron ore lumps in November 12, shows data of Karnataka mines ministry.
