Steel and foundry grade Pig Iron is being traded at last weeks prices in various locations of India.
Producers of Pig Iron are unable to raise prices from current levels as there has been no improvement in domestic demand.
A manufacturer at Giridih sold a total of 12,000 tons of Pig Iron in November.
“In Rourkela, Odisha, buyers of steel grade Pig Iron are looking to place orders at Rs 200/MT less than what is being quoted,” said sources.
An official at NINL says, “Looking at the present market situation, chances are fewer that some good response might be seen for the exports tender which is to open by the end of this week”.
