Vizag Steel issues export tender for 90,000 MT billet & bloom for African, ASEAN and Middle East countries.
Vizag Steel has floated an export tender for steel products including billet, blooms, rebar and wire rod coils for African, ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and Middle East countries. There is another active tender by Vizag steel for 110,000 MT billet/bloom, which is expiring on 12 Aug’15.
The company, in the tender issue, has offered around 30,000 MT of billet and 60,000 MT of bloom, and has scheduled the delivery of material to 15 Oct’15 FoB Visakhapatnam Port or Gangavaram Port on direct export basis. Last date for bid submission is till 24 Aug’15.

Global billet prices show recovery
Billet prices in global market noticed some recovery after Chinese steelmakers reported to have cut their production and increased their export offers. Current offers for Chinese 150*150mm billet are assessed at USD 300-305/MT FOB China, which is equivalent to USD 330/MT CIF India or Bangladesh.
Last bloom tender by Vizag steel was settled at USD 330/MT FOB India East Coast, whereas billet tender failed to receive any bid.
