- Jindal Stainless Ltd is investing $157 million (to buy 49% stake) in Indonesia-based metals company New Yaking Pte Ltd to secure nickel supply.
- The company will construct and operate a nickel pig iron facility in Indonesia’s Halmahera Island.
- The plant will have an annual production capacity of up to 200,000 t and will be commissioned within the next two years.
