Japan: Ferro silicon imports inch up by 2% m-o-m in Jan’23

Japan’s ferro silicon imports inched up by 2% m-o-m to 32,036 t in Jan’23 against 31,292 t in Dec’22, as per Customs data.
China was the largest exporter at 8,696 t, up by 3% followed by Malaysia at 9,189 t and Russia at 4,797 t in Jan’23.
However, compared to the same month the previous year, Japan’s annual imports of ferro silicon fell by over 11% to 32,036 t.
