Greenhouse gas emissions from energy and industry in USA rose by 1.3% in 2022 even as renewable energy surpassed coal power nationwide. Around 22% of country’s electricity was generated from wind, solar and hydropower compared with 20% from coal. The US government has set a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions at least 50% by 2030.
