South Korea: Major steel mills increase their scrap bids by up to $16/t

      • South Korean steel majors, Korea Steel, Hwan Steel, and Dongkuk Steel increased their scrap purchase prices by up to KRW 20,000/t ($16/t) from 2 Jan, as per SteelDaily reports.
      • Dongkuk Steel (for its Incheon plant) increased the purchase price by KRW 10,000/t ($8/t). Similarly, Korea and Hwan Steel increased the scrap bids by KRW 20,000/t ($16/t) for all grades to secure raw materials for restocking.
