For maintaining air quality of Rourkela during the upcoming Men’s Hockey World Cup in January 2023, SPCB (State Pollution Control Board) Odisha has decided that all sponge iron plants which comes under Kuarmunda and Kalunga covering approximately 22 units will be shutdown from 1 January 2023 to 31 January 2023. All the dust prone areas shall be kept clean and sprinkled with water from time to time to keep it moist.
