India: MMTC issues fresh Tender for 40,000 MT Pig iron Export

MMTC, India’s largest trading company, on behalf of NINL has re-issued a global tender for export of Pig iron owing to the failure of the last one.

MMTC had opened an export tender for 40,000 MT basic grade Pig iron, dated 13 Feb’15, that closed on 10 Mar’15. The bidding event ended up a disappointment, failing to encounter a single bid. However, the company has reissued this tender to sell the previously offered quantity.

Meanwhile, this failure affected the Pig iron prices of NINL in domestic market. Thus, the company has further reduced N1 grade Pig iron prices by INR 700/MT for March deliveries, currentlly offering at INR 18,100/MT on ex-Cuttack basis. This offer is valid till 20 Mar’15.

In the current round, the offered quantity will be in 2 lots; firm lot containing 30,000 MT and optional lot containing 10,000 MT. The optional lot may be offered to H-1 bidder by MMTC, depending upon the availability of the material. The loading of the firm lot should be done at Paradip port along with delivery basis on FOBST. In addition, the shipment period is scheduled between the duration of 15-25 Apr’15.

Last date for bid submission will be on 06 Apr’15 at 14.30 hrs and the technical bids are scheduled on the same day at 14.45 hrs. Also, the price bids shall open on the same day at 16.30 hrs.
