USA: Steel billet imports rise by 3% m-o-m in Oct’22

USA’s steel billet imports rose by 3.2% m-o-m in Oct’22 to 220,523 t from 213,735 t in Sep’22, as per data recently released by customs.
Brazil was the largest exporter with 107,327 t followed by Mexico and Canada with 43,865 t and 36,585 t respectively.
However, total import volumes fell by 34% to 2.96 mnt in Jan-Oct’22 as against 4.47 mnt in the year-ago period.
