Coal India subsidiary, Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL), has appointed Montecarlo Limited as the mine-developer-operator (MDO) for its Hura-C project. The contract involves coal extraction and delivery for 25 years, which was finalised via tender process at a mining charge of INR 753/t. The mine is located in West Bengal. It has geological reserve of around 63.75 mnt.
