Indonesia: PTBA to use 6 mnt of coal annually in coal gasification project

Indonesia’s coal mining company, PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA), will use 6 mnt coal annually for coal gasification project. Coal with calorific value less than 4000 kcal/kg will be used in operations that will begin in the fourth quarter of 2027. Notably, the gasification project will cut Indonesia’s LPG imports by 1 mnt per year.
