India’s giant power producer, NTPC has invited bid for purchase of imported Steam coal through Reverse Auction from eligible bidders for its various plants/units via different Indian ports on FoR destination basis.
NTPC has intended to purchase a total quantity of 7 MnT imported coal for its various power plants. For this, the company has floated four different tenders for importing coal to its various plants/units based in different regions of India. Bid opening date for all the tenders will be 17 Mar, 2015.
The material is required at various power plants or units of NTPC namely Talcher Kaniha, Farakka, Kahalgaon, Barh, Badarpur, Simhadri, Ramagundam, Rihand, Singrauli & Vindhyachal, Unchahar,Tanda, Dadri, Sipat, Korba and Mouda Power.
Bidders’ scope of work will include arranging vessels, stevedoring, handling, storage, port clearances, arranging railway rakes, loading, transportation and delivery at NTPC power stations. Unloading of coal at NTPC power stations will be arranged by the company. Also, bidders should mention the coal mines along with their bids in the bidding document.
Qualifying Requirement for Bidders
- Bidders must have experience of import/export and supply (including handling & port operation) of min 0.4-1.0 MnT of any dry bulk commodity like coal, Iron ore, cement etc
- Bidder’s average annual turnover in the preceding 3 financial years should not be less than INR 4.3-13.6 billion or in equivalent to foreign currency
- Any company based in India, which has supplied the above material for a continuous period of 12 months in past 3 years from the date of bid opening, is eligible to apply
