China: Spot iron ore prices fall amid weak demand outlook

Iron ore spot prices in China fell d-o-d due to low liquidity and a bleak demand outlook. Benchmark Fe 62% fines prices fell by $1.05/t to $93.75/t CFR China on 19 Oct’22. Steel data showed a w-o-w decline in rebars demand. Furthermore, amid poor lump liquidity, many market participants continued to closely monitor the rapid decline in demand-side fundamentals and anticipated further price pressure.
