Korea Southern Power Co. Ltd (KOSPO) has invited bids to procure 240,000 t of 3800-4900 kcal/kg GAR grade for December, a tender notification showed. The bid closing date is 20 Oct at 2000 Korean Standard Time (KST). Sellers of Russian coal have been barred from bidding. State utility KEPCO has announced to generate some 12.8 terawatt hours (TWh) of power with coal this year instead of using LNG.
