China: Spot iron ore prices edge down on cautious buying

The spot prices of iron ore in China dropped slightly d-o-d on 12 Oct’22 on the market’s cautious buying intentions. Benchmark Fe 62% fines prices fell by $0.55/t to $96.50/t CFR China. Sources attributed it to the slight increase in restocking as the Chinese market returned from the Golden Week holidays. Furthermore, strict Covid-19 measures resulted in more cautious buying in the seaborne market.
