Though, Pig iron exports market for Brazil proved to be good in January 2013, economic crisis in the European countries impacted it to some extent.
In January 2013, merchant Pig iron exports from Brazil increased by 60% to a total of 414,111 metric tons (mt), in comparison to 257,787 mt in December 2012.
In January 2013, the average exports price to the US moved up by 4% to $389/MT FOB, that was at $376/MT in December 2012.
US imported 245,957 mt of the total quantity exported in January, 178,641 mt in December 2012 and 189,816 in January 2012, from Brazil.
