China’s top coal producing province Shanxi eyes output of 1.3 bnt in 2022, up by 107 mnt compared to last year. The province is targeting 1.35 bnt of coal output in 2023. The increase in coal output will ensure a stable supply to power plants during summer and winter months. Shanxi produced 855 mnt of coal during Jan-Aug’22 which is 29% of the country’s total output in this period.
