Europe: Germany signs energy security agreement with UAE for fuel procurement

Germany has signed an energy security and industry accelerator agreement with the UAE for supply of LNG and diesel. Under the agreement, Abu Dhabi’s state-owned Adnoc will supply an LNG cargo to German utility RWE in late 2022 and and 250,000 t/month of diesel to the country throughout 2023. The move is meant to reduce Germany’s coal usage steadily in the coming years.
