China’s crude steel output rose by a marginal 3% to 83.37 mnt in Aug’22 as against 81.43 mnt in July, as per latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). Improved capacity utilisation by mills after maintenance shutdown resulted in increased output. On y-o-y basis, production edged up against 83.24 mnt in Aug’21. In Jan-Aug’22, the volumes totalled 693.15 mnt, down by 6% y-o-y.
