Australia: Heavy rains to affect coal supplies in Oct-Nov due to third La Nina

Australia is likely to experience third La Nina weather trend in Sep-Nov, Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) said. New South Wales and Victoria are expected to witness increased rainfall in Oct-Nov due to the presence of Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD). This is going to disrupt coal mining in the region in upcoming months. Australian coking coal exports have already fallen by 10% y-o-y to 101.23 mnt in Jan-Aug’22.
