NMDC issues EoI for Iron Ore Evacuation Facility via Slurry Pipeline

NMDC, being a largest producer of Iron ore in India, is planning to set up a 10 MnT Iron ore evacuation facility through slurry pipeline from Kirandul (Chhattisgarh) to Vishakhapatnam.

The company is now planning to ramp up its production in a big way. Currently, NMDC is producing about 30 MnT pa of Iron ore from three fully mechanized mines namely Kirandul & Bacheli complex of Bailadila sector in Chhattisgarh state & Donimalai Complex of Karnataka state. To increase the plants production, various plans are envisaged by NMDC for evacuation of Iron ore.

NMDC intends to identify interested parties in Iron & Steel Industry to set up an evacuation facility of not less than 10 MnT pa capacity through slurry pipeline from Kirandul to Vishakhapatnam. Company will ensure Iron ore linkage on long-term basis.

Objective

As per Company’s vision plan, production is expected to reach 65 MnT pa by FY19. In addition, NMDC intends to enter for Iron ore linkage with interested parties for establishing an evacuation facility of Iron ore.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant should be the end user of Iron ore/Iron ore concentrate/Iron ore pellet
  • Applicants should have a successful operating Pellet plant/Pig iron/Sponge iron/Steel plants/Steel plants with minimum aggregate annual consumption of 5 MnT pa
  • Average annual turnover should be minimum INR 30 billion over past three preceding years

Last date for submission of documents will be on or before 8 Jan, 2015 at 15.00 hrs.
