NMDC offered 160,000 MT of Iron ore (both lumps and fines) from its Kirandul and Bacheli mines in the state of Chhattisgarh, on February 26.
An NMDC official told SteelMint, “There were no successful bidders for iron ore lumps.
Out of the total quantity of 64,000 MT of Fe% 64 iron ore fines offered in the e-auction, we received bids for 12,000 MT of fines only, at INR 2,619/MT.
Though, we are permitted to make sales on the slightly higher e-auction prices as compared to offers standing at Rs 2,600/MT for long term contracts, management is yet to give a confirmation on the same”.
