Japan: Tokyo Steel increases scrap buy prices by up to $15/t

Japan’s Tokyo Steel has hiked scrap buying prices as many EAFs resume production after summer maintenance and amid strong global cues.
The company has increased bids for H2 scrap by up to JPY 2,000/t ($15/t) for all of its plants, effective 30 Aug.
Post adjustment, bid prices for H2 scrap are at JPY 47,000/t ($339/t) delivered to the Tahara plant and Utsunomiya works.
