Bangladesh: Bulk ferrous scrap import offers from US surge by $10-15/t

Bulk ferrous scrap import prices into Bangladesh have increased this week. A few offers for US-origin HMS (80:20) are heard at $455-460/t CFR.
Last weekend, 30,000 t of US-origin mixed (HMS and shredded) bulk cargo was booked for Sept’22 shipment at an average price of $445-450/t CFR Chittagong.
Buying enquiries improved due to stability in national currency (Taka) against US dollar and the hike in Turkiye scrap prices in recent deals.
