KIOCL has resumed pellet plant operations in Mangalore on 12 Aug’22. The company had suspended production at the plant since early-June due to the imposition of pellet export duty. On 22 May, the government imposed a 45% duty on iron ore pellet exports in order to safeguard domestic supply and effectively control inflation. KIOCL’s pellet plant in Karnataka’s Mangalore has a capacity of 3.5 mnt/year.
