Indonesia’s benchmark coal price, also known as HBA (Harga Batubara Acuan), remained largely unchanged at $322/t for Aug’22. A sharp rise in prices was limited amid subdued demand from its top buyer, China. However, uncertainty in the global LNG market limited any major fall in prices. The benchmark price remains higher by 145% against Jul’21 amidst a demand-supply imbalance.
