USA: Steel billet imports rise, m-o-m, in Jun’22

USA’s steel billet imports rose sharply by 61.13% m-o-m in Jun’22 to 0.40 mnt from 0.25 mnt in May, as per data recently released by customs.
Brazil and Russia were the largest exporters with 0.11 mnt each, followed by Mexico with 0.10 mnt.
However, import volumes fell by 26% to 2.01 mnt y-o-y in Jan-Jun’22 as against 2.72 mnt in the year-ago period.
