State-owned Coal India has received environmental clearances for the expansion of ten coal mining projects which would lead to an additional capacity of 9.65 mnt. These clearances will help in enhancing CIL’s coal production to meet the country’s energy requirement. Of these 10 mines, three are in Odisha, two each in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and one in Chhattisgarh.
