Iron ore production might not go beyond 20 million tons in April to March 2014 as it would take two to three years more for India to produce required output.
Karnataka is anticipated to supply around 4 to 5 million tons of iron ore, excluding NMDC's contribution, in the financial year 2014.
In December 2012, iron ore output reduced by 4% and by 3.3% in December 2011.
Export figures of iron ore from India might stand somewhere between 8-9 million tons in the financial year 2013-14 as the country looks to be a net importer of about 20 million tons of the raw material in the same period.
In April 2013 to January 2014, exports of iron ore dropped by 68.27% to 16.34 million tons on account of mining ban in the major producing states such as Karnataka, Odisha and Goa for two years from now.
In the months ahead, though gradually but iron ore mining issues look to start improving soon.
