India: Meghalaya’s industries to face 4 hours per day of power cuts

Meghalaya’s industries, including ferro silicon plants, are experiencing production cuts amid a power shortage as the Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation has announced a power cut for at least four hours a day from 28 Jun’22. The load-shedding is being carried out on account of maintenance shutdown and closure of several hydropower plants, resulting in a shortfall of 120-140 MW of power.
