India: South African coal sold at INR 15,500/t at Vizag Port

In a confirmed deal, about 2, 500 t of South African RB3 (4800 NAR) grade coal was sold at INR 15,500/t at Vizag Port, while a few offers were heard at INR 15,800/t. Demand for mid-CV RB2 5500 kcal/kg NAR coal, however, remained weak, with offers at INR 18,000/t. Prices are expected to inch up further in line with the rise in imported coal prices due mainly to geopolitical reasons.
