South Korea: Steel billet imports rise over 30%, m-o-m, in May

South Korea’s steel billet imports rose 31.59% m-o-m in May’22 to 136,907 t from 104,040 t in Apr, customs data show.
Japan was the largest exporter at 126,564 t, followed by Vietnam at 10,171 t.
Import volumes rose sharply by 53% to 811,402 t on year in Jan-May’22 as against 530,453 t in the year-ago period.
