South Korea: Ferrous scrap imports dip 12%, m-o-m, in May

  • South Korea imported 440,000 t of scrap in May’22 as against 500,000 t in April, a sharp drop of 12% m-o-m, as per SteelMint data.
  • Imports from Japan were at 250,000 t, followed by the USA and Russia at 90,000 t and 60,000 t.
  • However, imports increased significantly by 22% from 360,000 t in May’21.
